Jimmy was born in Glasgow, and attended the Glasgow School of Art where he studied Environmental Sculpture.

Afterwards he moved to London and started as a runner in a Digital Post-Production house, moving on to become an Effects designer moving between Asia, Los Angeles and Rome. He spent three years in Rome working out of the Cinecetta Studios learning how to direct.

He returned to the UK to direct commercials and documentaries, also working with Channel Four, CNN and ITV.

Jimmy is a keen photographer and Art collector.
