Born and raised in Santiago, Chile, Droguett moved to the United States at the age of twenty-two to continue his study of communications. Establishing himself in New York City, he changed he moved his studies into the field of cinematography at New York University. Post-graduation, he gained employment as a producer with BBDO/NY. During his ten year tenure, he worked on campaigns for such companies as Pepsi, Visa, GE, Lever, DuPont and Polaroid. Droguett 'fell' into the role of director while executive producing with BBDO/NY.
Afterwards he moved on to direct documentary cinema projects for Vogue, Time Warner, IBM, Warner Brothers, Ralph Lauren, W Magazine, John Bartlett and Bill Blass, in addition to others. His philosophy of directing is that clutter and vulgarity can be appreciated, but only when they serve a purpose for art. However, his natural tendency is to avoid both. He prefers only the refined image or object, which is far harder to come by or define.
