ADAM MUFTI
BIOGRAPHY

Adam Mufti is a filmmaker based in London whose elegant approach and continuing working relationship with Nick Knight has enabled many film collaborations with key image-making figures, including Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, Brad Pitt, Simon Foxton, Björk, Grace Jones and Comme des Garcons.

After graduating with a BA in Graphic Design under Peter Saville at Salford University, Adam joined SHOWstudio in 2000 to lead its programme of film content as Motion Image Director until moving into freelance direction in 2005. Adam was invited by the Victoria and Albert Museum, London to direct the restoration, editing and recontextualisation of Guy Bourdin's unseen film archive, the outcome of which was central to the 2003 Bourdin retrospective and its international tour. A sister project, to edit the unseen films of Erwin Blumenfeld was posted on SHOWstudio in 2006.

Adam has also directed work for several brands including Vauxhall, Motorola, Rimmel, Max Factor, British Vogue, YSL, Ungaro, Umbro and Amex. Adam's work has been featured on MTV Europe and at numerous festivals and exhibitions around the globe. Proficient in digital video technologies, he has lectured internationally at events including OFFF Barcelona, The Baltic Centre for Contemporary Arts and Onedotzero 8.
